Axis Bank held on to its firm undertone to end the day as the top gainer on the NSE on Thursday. However, it came off its early highs by the close. It finished at Rs 567.8, up 2.87 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 551.95.
BHEL made rapid strides in the afternoon session to hold gains of 2.54 per cent at Rs 238.05. The share ended yesterday’s session at Rs 232.15.
Lupin edged down by the close. It held gains of 1.63 per cent at Rs 1,772.55. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 1,744.10.
Reliance Industries was up 1.45 per cent at Rs 862.35 as against Rs 850 at close yesterday.
Vedanta (earlier Sesa Sterlite) also shed some of its morning gains to quote at Rs 209.85. The share had closed the overnight session at Rs 207.05.
