Private sector lender Axis Bank stayed ahead of the pack in afternoon trade on Monday. At 2.24 pm it was quoting at Rs 644.40. This represented a gain of 5.05 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 613.40.
BHEL rallied further to build gains of 4.88 per cent at Rs 274.95. The scrip had closed the previous session at Rs 262.15.
Cipla perked up 3.79 per cent to trade at Rs 707.30. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 681.50.
NTPC powered up to trade at Rs 159. This was a gain of 2.09 per cent on its previous close at at Rs 155.75.
Larsen & Toubro climbed up 4.18 per cent to quote at Rs 1,840.40. The share had ended the overnight session at Rs 1,766.9.
