Axis Bank surges nearly 3% on BSE

Axis Bank maintained its firm undertone to emerge the top gainer on the BSE near the close on Wednesday. At 3.25 pm it had gained 2.85 per cent to trade at Rs 569.50 as against Rs 553.70 at close yesterday.

Larsen & Toubro also edged up to hold gains of 2.62 per cent at Rs 1,615 as against its overnight close at Rs 1,573.80.

Maruti Suzuki zipped up 2.40 per cent at Rs 3,473.90 as against Rs 3,392.55 at close yesterday.

Tata Steel moved up 2.18 per cent at Rs 365.45. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 357.65.

Reliance Industries was trading at Rs 900.90. This represented a gain of 2.06 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 882.70.
