Private sector lenders Axis Bank and ICICI Bank were among the top gainers on the BSE in the Saturday afternoon session, following the announcement of the Budget.
At 2.50 pm Axis Bank had vaulted 7.27 per cent to quote at Rs 608.40. The share had ended the overnight session at Rs 567.15.
Hindustan Unilever spurted 2.55 per cent to trade at Rs 909.40. The share had closed Friday’s session at Rs 886.80.
Tata Motors rode up 2.46 per cent at Rs 589.65 as against Rs 575.50 at close yesterday.
Sun Pharma rose 2.42 per cent at Rs 900.45 as against Rs 879.20 at close overnight.
ICICI Bank was trading at Rs 342.45 as against Rs 335 at close yesterday. This represented a gain of 2.22 per cent.
