Banking stocks were among the top gainers on the NSE on Wednesday morning. However, Sesa Sterlite led the pack on the bourse during the session. At 10.40 am the metal sector share was up 2.32 per cent at Rs 205.20 as against Rs 200.55 at close on Monday. The markets were closed for a holiday on Tuesday.
YES Bank led the banking shares on the NSE, trading at Rs 855.25, a gain of 1.61 per cent on its previous close at Rs 841.70.
ICICI Bank was also on the uptrend, posting gains of 1.45 per cent at Rs 321.50. The share had closed Monday’s session at Rs 316.90.
ACC firmed up 1.25 per cent at Rs 1,616.20 as against Rs 1,596.20 at close previously.
Public sector lender Punjab National Bank was also on firm ground, trading at Rs 167.60 as against Rs 165.60 at close on Monday. This was a gain of 1.21 per cent.
