Bank shares stole the show on the market on Wednesday. Axis Bank ended the day the top gainer on the NSE as well. It finished with gains of 4.91 per cent at Rs 558.50 as against its overnight close at Rs 532.35.
ICICI Bank advanced 3.07 per cent at rs 317.65 as against its Tuesday finish at Rs 308.20.
GAIL (India) held steady to trade at Rs 378.4, up 3.04 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 367.25.
Ambuja Cement made headway in the afternoon session to trade at Rs 235.15. This was a gain of 2.75 per cent on yesterday’s close at Rs 228.85.
IDFC held steady to keep gains of 2.73 per cent at Rs 157.95. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 153.75.
