Hindustan Unilever led the pack on the NSE as well on Monday morning. At 10.45 am it was trading at Rs 894.45, up 3.45 per cent on its previous close at Rs 864.60.
PSU banks, Bank of Baroda and Punjab National Bank, were joined by private lender, Kotak Mahindra Bank, among the top gainers during the session. BoB was up 2.65 per cent at Rs 1,088.50. The share had ended Friday’s session at Rs 1,060.45.
PNB spurted 2.23 per cent to trade at Rs 211.20. The share had closed the previous week’s trading at Rs 206.60.
Kotak Mahindra Bank was quoting at Rs 1,386.75 as against Rs 1,360.95 at close last week. This was a gain of 1.90 per cent.
Tech Mahindra was the lone IT share among the top gainers. It was trading at Rs 2,732 as against Rs 2,680.35, a gain of 1.93 per cent.
The markets began the week little changed from their previous close. The BSE Sensex was trading above the 27,460-level in the morning session, while the NSE Nifty was within striking distance of the 8,300-level.
