Bharti Airtel shares fell in morning trade on Thursday. Operating profit at Rs 7,786 crore lagged estimates, said analysts. Sharp declines in Africa and enterprise business weighed, they added. The company posted a net profit of Rs 1,437 crore in Oct-Dec 2014, more than double the Rs 612 crore it made in the same period of 2013.
At 10.00 am, the stock was down 0.67 per cent at Rs 365.40 on the BSE.
Separately, a Bloomberg report said Orange is eyeing Bharti's African assets to create "Orange Africa".
