Bharat Heavy Electricals has commissioned the second 270-MW thermal unit at Goindwal Sahib coal-fired thermal power project near Amritsar in Punjab for GVK Power & Infra. The first 270-MW unit of the project was commissioned by BHEL in February. BHEL’s scope of work in the Goindwal Sahib project envisaged design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of steam turbines, generators, boilers, associated auxiliaries and electricals, besides controls, instrumentation and electrostatic precipitators, BHEL said in a release. BHEL shares traded down 1.28 per cent at ₹111.95 on the NSE.
