BHEL made rapid strides during the second half to emerge the top gainer at 3.05 pm. It had notched up gains of 4.04 per cent at Rs 282.15 as against Rs 271.20 at close on Wednesday.
Hindalco Industries held steady to keep its gains at 2.69 per cent at Rs 173.7 as against Rs 169.15 at close on Wednesday.
Hindustan Unilever moved up further to hold gains of 2.65 per cent at Rs 788.7. The share had ended the overnight session at Rs 768.35.
M&M made further ground to hold gains of 1.63 per cent at Rs 1,291.6 as against Rs 1,270.85 at close overnight.
Infosys extended its gains to 1.52 per cent at Rs 4,363.10 as against Rs 4,297.65 at close yesterday.
