BHEL vaults 5.77% on NSE

Banking sector stocks, which jumped to the top on the NSE in morning trade following the RBI decision to hold rates steady, gave way to a more diverse group of stocks comprising BHEL, DLF, Tata Power, Punjab National Bank and Hero MotoCorp by late trading.

At 3.10 p.m. the top gainer was BHEL, which was trading at Rs 163.25, a gain of 5.77 per cent on its previous close of Rs 154.35.

Real estate stock DLF was quoting at Rs 160.20, representing a gain of 5.39 per cent on its previous close of Rs 152.

Tata Power continued to trade firm. It was quoting at Rs 91.55, up 3.98 per cent on its previous close of Rs 88.05.

Punjab National Bank was quoting at Rs 586, a gain of 3.57 per cent on its previous close of Rs 565.80.

Hero MotoCorp maintained its firm undertone to ride up 3.28 per cent to quote at Rs 2,122.40 as against Rs 2,054.90 at close earlier.
