Banks shares stole the show on the bourses on Friday morning, with State Bank of India leading the pack on the NSE as well.
At 11.30 am the SBI scrip was trading at Rs 298.55. This represented a gain of 2.86 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 290.25.
Bank of Baroda gained 2.20 per cent to trade at Rs 160 as against Rs 156.55 at close on Thursday.
IDFC built gains of 2.05 per cent to quote at Rs 157.10 as against Rs 153.95 at close yesterday.
Punjab National Bank was trading at Rs 151.75. This represented a gain of 1.81 per cent on its previous close at Rs 149.05.
TCS was the lone IT stock among the top gainers, quoting at Rs 2,600.90 as against Rs 2,555.50 at close yesterday.
