BPCL flared up 3.62 per cent to emerge the top gainer on the NSE on Friday. At 11 am the share was trading at Rs 847.30 as against Rs 817.70 at close yesterday.
Bharti Airtel was on a firm wicket, trading at Rs 414.95. This represented a gain of 2.97 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 403. Vodafone yesterday announced that it had sold its 4.2 per cent stake in the company for $200 million.
Asian Paints gained 2.79 per cent to trade at Rs 788.75 as against Rs 767.35 at close yesterday.
Ambuja Cement firmed up 2.54 per cent at Rs 235.80 as against Rs 229.95 at close on Thursday.
Coal India was broadly firm today, trading at Rs 392.85. This represented a gain of 2.48 per cent on its previous close at Rs 383.35.
