BPCL spiked up 4.50 per cent on the NSE on Thursday morning. At 11.15 am it was trading at Rs 674 as against Rs 644.95 at close yesterday.
Asian Paints rode up 3.32 per cent at Rs 797.35 as against Rs 771.70 at close overnight.
Both the Sensex and the Nifty reversed their recent losing trend to post gains on positive global cues. The Sensex was trading higher by nearly 250 points at over 27,100, while the Nifty was up over 80 points at over 8,180.
Kotak Mahindra Bank maintained its recent firm undertone to trade at Rs 1,305. This represented a gain of 2.63 per cent on its previous close at Rs 1,271.50.
Cairn India rode up 2.54 per cent at Rs 236 as against Rs 230.15 at close on Wednesday.
HDFC Bank was trading at Rs 968.45. This was a gain of 2.48 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 945.
