BHEL steamed up 4 per cent to emerge the top gainer on the NSE as well on Wednesday. The share closed the session at Rs 240.15, up 3.96 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 231.
Cairn India advanced 3.10 per cent at Rs 129.75 against Rs 125.85 at close yesterday.
Tata Power shed some of its morning gains to trade at Rs 60.20. This was a gain of 2.91 per cent on its previous close at Rs 58.50.
Auto shares Bajaj Auto and Tata Motors also ended the day on a firm note. Bajaj Auto was trading at Rs 2,244.65 against Rs 2,198.20 at close yesterday. This was a gain of 2.11 per cent.
Tata Motors drove up 1.90 per cent at Rs 335.10 against Rs 328.85 at close on Tuesday.
