Cairn India shot up 4.52 per cent by midsession on Thursday, reversing the losses it suffered yesterday. At 12.25 pm it was trading at Rs 233.75 as against Rs 223.65 at close yesterday.
NTPC steamed up 3.97 per cent at Rs 159.85. The share had closed the overnight session at Rs 153.75.
Metal stocks Sesa Sterlite, Hindalco Industries and Tata Steel also joined the uptrend. Sesa Sterlite jumped 3.40 per cent to quote at Rs 199.25 as against Rs 192.70 at close on Wednesday.
Hindalco Industries gained 2.92 per cent at Rs 134.15. The share had closed yesterday’s session at Rs 130.35.
Tata Steel spiked up 2.71 per cent at Rs 334.10 as against Rs 325.30 at close yesterday.
