The 125 MW unit-3 of Gujarat Industries Power Co’s Surat Lignite Power Plant has stopped working since Monday due to a technical snag in the generator transformer, the company said in a filing with the exchanges on Friday. The company has asked equipment supplier Bharat Heavy Electricals to probe and suggest measures to fix the issue on an “urgent basis”, it said. Shares of Gujarat Industries Power Co slipped 0.9 per cent at ₹81.50 on the NSE.
The board of Suzlon Energy on Friday approved the allotment of 4.73 crore equity shares of ₹2 each on conversion of 12,136 $54.69 million step-up convertible bonds due July 2019 of $1,000 each. The conversion price has been fixed at ₹l5.46 a share at a conversion rate of ₹60.225 to a $1. The stock of Suzlon Energy edged down about 2 per cent at ₹24.45 on the NSE.
FDC has purchased immoveable property from lessors, Ghaswalas, admeasuring 8,664 sq mt located at Jogeshwari (West), Mumbai, for a total consideration of ₹261 crore. The board of FDC considered this outright purchase of the Ghaswala plot (currently occupied on lease since the year 1949 which will finally expire in December 2018), as one of the best options, considering the time and cost factor involved in shifting the entire operations presently undertaken at Jogeshwari. Shares of FDC closed flat at ₹203.85 as against Thursday’s price of ₹204.3 on the NSE.
