Shree Pushkar Chemicals & Fertilisers announced commercial production at its SOP plant. Simultaneously, it has also commenced trial runs of the Granular calcium chloride plant of 6,500 MTA capacity, a byproduct in the manufacture of SOP, the company said in a statement to the exchanges. Commercial production at the plant is slated to commence by November end. Granular calcium chloride is a hygroscopic material and finds application as a desiccating agent. It is also extensively used as a deicing agent in western countries during snowfalls. The product is manufactured from hydrochloric acid generated as a byproduct during manufacture of SOP. Shares of Shree Pushkar Chemicals climbed 9.18 per cent at ₹182.55 on the BSE.

Visaka Industries has informed the exchanges that the expansion of production capacity in its textile unit at Chirvah, Mouda, Nagpur, is completed. The new unit has been commissioned and started commercial production on November 1, it said in the notice. The stock of Visaka Industries closed at ₹221.25, up 0.61 per cent on the BSE.
