Dr Reddy’s Labs spurted into the lead in late trading on the BSE on Monday. At 3.35 pm the share was trading at Rs 3,109 as against Rs 3,047.65 at close last week. This was a gain of 2.01 per cent.
Bajaj Auto held firm to keep gains of 1.40 per cent at Rs 2,259.5. The scrip had closed last week’s session at Rs 2,228.25.
Sun Pharma held steady. It held on to its morning gains of 1.34 per cent at Rs 941 as against Rs 928.60 at close last week.
Wipro was up 1.33 per cent at Rs 650 as against Rs 641.50 at close on Friday.
ONGC trimmed some of its morning gains to quote at Rs 355.20. This was up 1.21 per cent on Friday’s close at Rs 350.95.
The benchmark indices the Sensex and the Nifty extended their losses for the seventh successive session on Monday. Exit poll projections of an electoral loss for the BJP in Delhi as well as concerns about the third quarter numbers of some companies weighed on the markets. The Sensex ended down 490 points or 1.71 per cent at 28,227.39. The Nifty tanked 134.70 points or 1.56 per cent to 8,526.35.
