Financial sector shares HDFC and Kotak Mahindra Bank held on to their firm undertone towards the close of trading on the NSE on Monday. At 3.05 pm HDFC remained the top gainer on the bourse, trading at Rs 1,121.95. This represented a gain of 4.90 per cent on its previous close at Rs 1,069.50.
Kotak Mahindra Bank also extended its gains to trade up at Rs 1,300.20. This was a gain of 4.24 per cent on its Friday close at Rs 1,247.30.
Coal India also built on its early gains. It was trading at Rs 375.75. This represented a gain of 3.13 per cent on its previous close at Rs 364.35.
ONGC flared up 1.97 per cent to trade at Rs 343.75. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 337.10.
Zee Entertainment moved up 1.78 per cent at Rs 367.80. The share had closed the previous week at Rs 361.35.
