Financial sector shares surge on NSE

Financial sector stock HFDC, Kotak Mahindra and IndusInd Bank led the pack on the NSE at the week open. At 10.45 am, HDFC was the top gainer, trading at Rs 1,098.15. The share had closed last week at Rs 1,069.50.

Kotak Mahindra Bank traded up 2.60 per cent at Rs 1,279.70. The share finished Friday’s session at Rs 1,247.30.

IndusInd Bank was trading at Rs 798.80, up 2.59 per cent on its previous close at Rs 778.65.

Coal India was also among the top gainers, trading at Rs 372.25. This represented a gain of 2.17 per cent on its previous close at Rs 364.35.

BHEL steamed up 1.84 per cent at Rs 251.90. The share had ended the previous session at Rs 247.35.
