The US arm of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals has received final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration for marketing the generic of Pfizer’s Zyvox tablets, the company informed the stock exchanges on Tuesday. Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Inc has received approval for 600 mg strength tablets of generic linezolid, which is used to treat various types of bacterial infections, such as pneumonia and skin infections. According to IMS Health data, Zyvox tablets had sales of about $447.6 million in the US for the 12 months ended October 31. Shares of Glenmark gained 1 per cent at ₹938.10 on the NSE.
