Shares of Hindustan Construction Company rallied as much as 5 per cent as the company's joint venture firm has bagged a contract worth Rs 484 crore from Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation for the Pune metro project.
Following a strong open at Rs 42.05 against the previous close of Rs 41.90, the scrip touched an intraday high of Rs 44 and a low of Rs 42.05. In terms of volume, 14.87 lakh shares exchanged hands on the BSE.
“Hindustan Construction Company, a lead partner in the joint venture with AL FARA’A, has been awarded Rs 484 crore contract by the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd for Pune metro rail project,” HCC said in a BSE filing today.
The contract is for construction of eight elevated stations on line II of the Pune metro rail project.
