Shares of HCL Technologies surged nearly 5 per cent today after the company posted a 43.3 per cent jump in net profit for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.
After opening on a positive note, the stock further jumped by 4.48 per cent to an early high of Rs 425 on the BSE. The scrip touched a high of Rs 425.55, up 4.82 per cent from the last closing price, on the NSE.
Marketmen said the company’s numbers came largely in line with consensus estimates.
HCL Technologies reported a net profit of Rs 572.7 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 against Rs 399.7 crore in the October-December quarter of 2010.
The company also declared an interim dividend of Rs 2 per equity share of Rs 2 face value.
