HCL Technologies vaulted 4.19 per cent to emerge the top gainer on the NSE after it announced robust Q2 numbers earlier today. The company reported a 58.4 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 1,496 crore for the second quarter ended December 31, 2013, compared with Rs 944 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
At 3.10 p.m. HCL Technologies was trading at Rs 1,386.10 as against Rs 1,330.35 at close on Wednesday.
Coal India gained 2.57 per cent to quote at Rs 302.80 as against its overnight finish of Rs 295.20.
BHEL extended its morning gains to trade at Rs 170.20. This was up 2.19 per cent on yesterday's close of Rs 166.55.
UltraTech Cement also rode up over 2 per cent to quote at Rs 1,745. It had closed the previous session at Rs 1,710.10.
IT stock Wipro rode up 2 per cent to emerge among the top gainers in late trade. It was quoting at Rs 571.90 as against Rs 560.70 at close on Wednesday.
