HDFC shares fall as much as 1 per cent as profit on sale of investments in December quarter halves.
The stock is the biggest drag on the NSE index.
HDFC says profit on sale of investments for the quarter ended December 31 fell to Rs 57 crore ($8.62 million) from Rs 113 crore ($17.08 million) a year earlier.
Income from dividend has gone up to Rs 135 crore from Rs 103 crore a year earlier.
Income from dividend includes dividend of Rs 127 crore from HDFC Standard Life - HDFC ($1 = 66.1600 Indian rupees)
