Power and financial sector stocks led the charge on the BSE on Wednesday. At 11.40 am the top gainer was HDFC, which was trading at Rs 1,330 as against Rs 1,288.10 at close on Monday. This was a gain of 3.25 per cent. The markets were shut on Tuesday for a festival.
Tata Power charged up 2.38 per cent at Rs 86 as against its previous close at Rs 84.
M&M rode up 2.33 per cent to quote at Rs 1,236 as against Rs 1,207.80 at close on Monday.
NTPC steamed up 2.15 per cent at Rs 147.15 as against Rs 144.05 at the previous close.
ICICI Bank traded up 1.49 per cent to quote at Rs 343.20 as against Rs 338.15 at close yesterday.
