FMCG firm Henkel India has received shareholders’ nod to rechristen itself as Jyothy Consumer Products Ltd, following merger with Jyothy Laboratories Ltd.
The shareholders of the company have through a postal ballot overwhelmingly passed a special resolution for changing the name of the company from Henkel India Ltd to Jyothy Consumer Products Ltd, Henkel India said in a filing to BSE.
Out of the total number of votes polled, 99.93 votes were in favour of the resolution while 0.07 per cent were against the resolution. Results of the postal ballot were declared on July 11, it added.
The board of directors of the company had already approved the amalgamation of the company with Jyothy Laboratories at its meeting held last month, the company said.
Henkel India operates in business areas of laundry, home care, cosmetics, toiletries and haircare.
Shares of Henkel India ended at Rs 28.65 per scrip on the BSE, up 0.17 per cent from their previous close.
