Metal shares Hindalco Industries and Sesa Sterlite were among the top gainers on the BSE on Monday morning. At 10.15 am Hindalco Industries was trading at Rs 159.10, up 1.73 per cent on its Friday close at Rs 156.40.
Sesa Sterlite rode up 1.43 per cent to quote at Rs 220.50. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 217.40.
Cipla perked up 1.04 per cent to trade at Rs 681.55. The share had ended last week at Rs 674.55.
ICICI Bank was also on a firm footing, trading at Rs 334.50. This represented a gain of 1.01 per cent on its previous close at Rs 331.15.
L&T gained 0.97 per cent to quote at Rs 1,694 as against Rs 1,677.80 at close last week.
The benchmark indices the Sensex and the Nifty were trading in positive territory in cautious trading. All eyes are on the Budget to be presented on Saturday. The Sensex was up over 70 points at over 29,300 points, while the Nifty gained about 10 points to hover above the 8,840 mark.
