Metal stocks were the top gainers on the NSE as well on Monday morning. At 11.24 am Vedanta was the top gainer, trading at Rs 110.55, up 6.71 per cent on its previous close at Rs 103.60.
Hindalco Industries gained 4.88 per cent at Rs 88.05 against Rs 83.95 on Friday evening.
Tata Steel spurted 2.23 per cent to quote at Rs 256.70 against Rs 251.10 at close last week.
Tata Motors rode up 2.16 per cent at Rs 364.15. The share had ended the previous session at Rs 356.45.
Cairn India flared up 1.78 per cent to quote at Rs 171.30 against Rs 168.30 at close on Friday.
