HUL spurts up 2.4% on BSE

Hindustan Unilever was the top gainer on the BSE in the morning session on Monday. At 11.05 am it held gains of 2.41 per cent to trade at Rs 914.30. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 892.75.

Tata Motors rolled up 2.20 per cent at Rs 578.10 as against Rs 565.65 at close on Friday.

Bharti Airtel rang in gains of 1.72 per cent at Rs 361.20. The share had closed last week’s session at Rs 355.10.

Dr Reddy’s Labs perked up 1.54 per cent at Rs 3,387.25. The share had closed last Friday at Rs 3,335.95.

ITC was up 1.49 per cent at Rs 383.70 as against Rs 378.05 at close last week.

The Sensex and the Nifty carried their recent firm undertone into trading on Monday. The markets were buoyed by expectations for a growth-oriented Budget and robust numbers recorded by some of the blue-chips. While the Sensex gained over 150 points to trade above the 29,250 level, the NSE gained over 40 points to trade near the 8,850 level.
