Hindustan Unilever was the top gainer on the BSE on Wednesday morning. At 11.40 am the share was trading at Rs 970.25, up 1.42 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 956.65.
Infosys gained 1.04 per cent to trade at Rs 2,223 as against Rs 2,200.10 at close overnight.
HDFC built gains of 0.96 per cent at Rs 1,325.40 as against Rs 1,312.80 at close yesterday.
NTPC steamed up 0.90 per cent at Rs 151.45. The share had closed Tuesday’s session at Rs 150.10.
M&M gained 0.85 per cent to trade at Rs 1,237.50. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 1,227.05.
The Sensex and the Nifty were flat in the absence of directional cues from the global markets, The Sensex was hovering around the 28,700 level, while the Nifty was perched above the 8,700 mark.
