IT shares began the Friday session on a firm note, with Wipro, Infosys and TCS recording gains on both the BSE and NSE.
At 11.10 am Wipro led the pack on the NSE as well, trading at Rs 648.45, up 2.11 per cent on its previous close at Rs 635.05.
Infosys gained 1.13 per cent at Rs 2,255.70. The share had closed the overnight session at Rs 2,230.45.
IndusInd Bank traded up 0.85 per cent at Rs 888.60 as against Rs 881.15 at close yesterday.
Cairn India resumed its recent uptrend to quote at Rs 224 as against Rs 222.20 overnight. This was a gain of 0.81 per cent.
HDFC built up gains of 0.66 per cent at Rs 1,336.50 as against Rs 1,327.70 at the finish yesterday.
The Sensex and the Nifty were trading marginally in the red during the Friday morning session on weak global cues. The Sensex declined nearly 70 points to hover around the 28,400 mark, while the Nifty lost about 40 points to trade below the 8,600 level.
