Reflecting the buoyancy witnessed by the financial sector, two private sector banks hit their 52-week high on the NSE today.
In fact, all the 12 stocks in the NSE Bank Nifty were in the green with the banking index itself gaining about 159 points.
IndusInd Bank touched a new yearly high of Rs 309.50 and Kotak Mahindra Bank too shot up to its 52-week high of Rs 525.
SBI surged by Rs 69.80 to trade at Rs 2,172.95. The other major gainers were Canara Bank, which was up by Rs 14.05 at Rs 498, Bank of Baroda that gained Rs 14.55 at Rs 776.75, ICICI Bank, which was trading at Rs 931.45, a gain of Rs 15.15 and PNB which moved up by Rs 15.20 at Rs 978.
However, Bank of India nd HDFC Bank were relatively subdued, up by just Rs 3.15 at Rs 351.50 and by Rs 2.65 at Rs 508.90, respectively.
