Even as the market is anticipating what Infosys’ Q2 numbers would be when the results are announced tomorrow, there was a sobering correction in the stock with Infosys shedding about 3 per cent around 1 pm on the BSE today.
The rub-off effect of this was evident in two other IT majors — TCS and Wipro — as well with both the stocks suffering value erosion, though marginally.
Infosys was the biggest Sensex loser in the afternoon, resulting in the morning gains of the Sensex being pared. The scrip lost about Rs 75 or 2.91 per cent to trade around Rs 2,515. The Sensex was hovering around 16,683, a gain of about 121 points.
Wipro shed Rs 2.55 to trade around Rs 346 and TCS was quoting at Rs 1,055, a loss of Rs 9.50. The other Sensex losers were ONGC, HLL and Sterlite.
