IT shares move up on BSE, Wipro gains over 2%

IT shares were in the limelight in the morning session on Friday. At 10.50 am, Wipro was the top gainer on the bourse, trading at Rs 647.20. This represented a gain of 2.19 per cent on its previous close at Rs 633.35.

Infosys gained 1.17 per cent at Rs 2,256 as against Rs 2,229.90.

HDFC was also on the uptrend, building gains of 0.75 per cent at Rs 1,338.30. The share had closed the overnight session at Rs 1,328.40.

Coal India moved up 0.31 per cent at Rs 366.50 as against Rs 365.35 at close yesterday.

TCS traded up 0.26 per cent to quote at Rs 2,601.10 as against Rs 2,594.40 at close on Thursday.

The Sensex and the Nifty were trading marginally in the red during the Friday morning session on weak global cues. The Sensex declined nearly 70 points to hover around the 28,400 mark, while the Nifty lost about 40 points to trade below the 8,600 level.
