IT shares were in the limelight on Tuesday morning on the NSE. The Infosys share was the top gainer in the session, propped up by robust Q1 numbers announced earlier today. The company posted a 5 per cent growth in net profit during the first quarter at Rs 3,030 crore.
At 10.50 am the share was trading at Rs 1,099.05 on the NSE. This represented a gain of 9.77 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 1,001.25.
Bharti Airtel dialled gains of 4.84 per cent to trade at Rs 450.25. The share had closed Monday’s session at Rs 429.45.
HCL Technologies was also on firm ground, trading at Rs 981, up 3.63 per cent on its previous close at Rs 946.65.
Wipro spurted up 2.60 per cent to quote at Rs 583.40 against Rs 568.60 at close yesterday.
Tech Mahindra gained 2.24 per cent at Rs 512 against Rs 500.80 at close on Monday.
