The positive impact of the Q2 results of Infosys was reflected across the IT sector on the NSE today.
The CNX IT index jumped about 243 points or 4.3 per cent to reach 5,881 and it was the biggest gainer among the sectoral indices on the NSE.
Of the 19 stocks constituting the CNX IT, 15 were in the green and even among those in the red, only CMC that came out with Q2 numbers yesterday, was down by about 2.4 per cent.
Infosys, which lost about Rs 90 yesterday ahead of the results, pulled back smartly today, gaining 5.45 per cent or about Rs 136 to trade around Rs 2,641 in the morning trade around 11.40 a.m. in the wake of positive Q2 numbers. TCS, which gained about Rs 34 to trade around Rs 1,075; Oracle Financial (added Rs 59 to Rs 2,025); and MindTree (up Rs 30 to Rs 372) were the major gainers. However, Wipro moved up only about Rs 10 to trade at Rs 351.
The smaller players in the IT pack such as Tulip, Patni, Rolta etc also made small gains.
CMC suffered erosion in value of about 2.40 per cent or Rs 18.75 to trade around Rs 756. GTL, Onmobile and Educomp were the other losers in the CNX IT.
