Metal scrips Sesa Sterlite and Hindalco Industries were on a roll in the markets on Monday morning. At 10.24 am Sesa Sterlite, trading at Rs 220.65, led the pack on the NSE. This represented a gain of 1.54 per cent on its Friday close at Rs 217.30.
Kotak Mahindra Bank also moved up 1.54 per cent to trade at Rs 1,318.20. The share had closed last week’s session at Rs 1,298.25.
Hindalco Industries spurted 1.44 per cent to quote at Rs 158.80. The scrip had closed last week at Rs 156.55.
Larsen & Toubro was up 1.05 per cent at Rs 1,695.20 as against its previous close at Rs 1,677.60.
BPCL flared up 0.91 per cent to trade at Rs 748.55 as against Rs 741.80 at close previously.
The benchmark indices the Sensex and the Nifty were trading in positive territory in cautious trading. All eyes are on the Budget to be presented on Saturday. The Sensex was up over 70 points at over 29,300 points, while the Nifty gained about 10 points to hover above the 8,840 mark.
