SEBI has approved the appointment of TS Krishnamurthy as Chairman of Central Depository Services. He takes over charge from N Rangachary, who chaired the CDSL board since 2010.
He was appointed Chairman by CDSL on April 8, 2016. A former Indian Revenue Service officer, Krishnamurthy held several key positions including that of Chief Election Commissioner of India between February 2004 and May 2005.
Other important responsibilities handled include Secretary, Department of Company Affairs and Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Mumbai.
