Larsen & Toubro spurted 2.23 per cent to lead the pack on the BSE on Wednesday morning. At 11.09 am it was quoting at Rs 1,608.95 as against its overnight close at Rs 1,573.80.
Axis Bank gained 2.04 per cent to trade at Rs 565 as against Rs 553.70 at close yesterday.
ICICI Bank was up 1.98 per cent at Rs 337.60. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 331.05.
Coal India gained 1.83 per cent to quote at Rs 375.05 as against Rs 368.30 at close on Tuesday.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries was trading at Rs 932.25. This represented a gain of 1.40 per cent on its previous close at Rs 919.40.
The Sensex and the Nifty extended yesterday's momentum into trading today. Lifted by buying support and optimism about the forthcoming Budget, the Sensex gained nearly 200 points to hover around the 28,550-mark, while the Nifty moved up more than 60 points to settle above the 8,620-level.
