Lupin was firm but off its morning highs at the close on the NSE on Thursday. The share finished the day with gains of 2.58 per cent at Rs 1,921.65 as against its overnight close at Rs 1,873.40.
Asian Paints also edged lower to hold gains of 2.53 per cent at Rs 834.80 against Rs 814.20 at close yesterday.
GAIL moved up 2.13 per cent to quote at Rs 389.90. The share had ended the session at Rs 381.75.
Tata Steel shed most of its early gains to trade at Rs 336.6, up 1.46 per cent on its previous close at Rs 331.75.
TCS was trading at Rs 2,596.25, up 1.44 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 2,559.35.
