Financial sector shares were on a firm footing in the Tuesday morning session after the RBI cut the Repo rate by a larger-than-expected 50 bps to 6.75 per cent. However, at 11.29 am auto major Mahindra & Mahindra was the top gainer on the bourse, trading at Rs 1,247.55. This represented a gain of 2.12 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 1,221.60.
Zee Entertainment spurted 2.09 per cent to quote at Rs 391.65 as against Rs 383.65 at close yesterday.
HDFC built gains of 1.63 per cent to trade at Rs 1,191.25 against Rs 1,172.15 at close yesterday.
Bank of Baroda traded up 1.17 per cent to quote at Rs 185.70 against Rs 183.55 at close on Monday.
IndusInd Bank advanced 0.99 per cent to quote at Rs 930 against Rs 920.90 at close yesterday.
