M&M zips up over 5% on NSE

State Bank of India rallied further on the back of robust third quarter numbers to notch up gains of 7.97 per cent on the NSE by close. At the close the scrip was trading at Rs 306.95 as against Rs 284.30 at close yesterday.

M&M also gathered momentum in the afternoon session, notching up gains of 5.12 per cent by close. It was trading at Rs 1,192.55 against Rs 1,134.45 at close yesterday.

Lupin extended its morning gains to ride up 3.82 per cent at Rs 1,679.45 as against Rs 1,617.70 at close yesterday.

Jindal Steel gained 3.75 per cent to quote at Rs 152.25 as Rs 146.75 at close overnight.

TCS edged up further to hold gains of 3.11 per cent at Rs 2,538.75. The scrip had closed yesterday’s session at Rs 2,462.15.

The Sensex and the Nifty extended their firm trend today, buoyed by healthy third quarter numbers reported by SBI. The Nifty jumped over 90 points to 8,805.50, while the Sensex surged nearly 300 points to breach the 29,000-mark once again..
