The top six Sensex companies together added Rs 57,869.38 crore in market valuation last week, with bluechips such as TCS, ITC and HDFC stealing the show.
Barring ONGC, RIL, Infosys and SBI, rest of the six companies in the top 10 list saw a rise in their market capitalisation for the week ended Friday (February 20).
The market valuation of TCS surged by Rs 26,677.87 crore at Rs 5,23,930.35 crore while that of ITC soared by Rs 14,385.58 crore at Rs 3,16,821.68 crore.
HDFC’s market value zoomed by Rs 10,231.97 crore at Rs 2,09,691.51 crore while CIL added Rs 3,284.51 crore at Rs 2,41,727.27 crore.
The market capitalisation of HDFC Bank climbed by Rs 1,677.36 crore at Rs 2,68,515.60 crore while that of HUL rose by Rs 1,612.09 crore at Rs 1,94,734.09 crore.
On the other hand, RIL’s market value suffered a loss of Rs 14,220.1 crore at Rs 2,82,541.66 crore and the market capitalisation of ONGC dipped by Rs 7,400.5 crore at Rs 2,83,400.61 crore.
SBI’s capitalisation declined by Rs 3,583.55 crore at Rs 2,25,651.72 crore while Infosys lost Rs 1,389.66 crore at Rs 2,62,345.53 crore.
In the ranking of top 10 firms, TCS stood at the number one position, followed by ITC, ONGC, RIL, HDFC Bank, Infosys, CIL, SBI, HDFC and HUL.
Over the last week, the benchmark BSE Sensex rose by 136.48 points at 29,231.41.
