Maruti Suzuki, which announced yesterday that it had recorded a 18 per cent growth in net profit during the third quarter ended December 31, 2014, sped up 1.67 per cent on the BSE. At 11.25 am the stock was trading at Rs 3,746.60. It had ended the previous session at Rs 3,685.20.
TCS spurted 1.41 per cent to quote at Rs 2,538.20. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 2,502.80.
Coal India gained 1.29 per cent to trade at Rs 387.95 as against Rs 383 at close on Tuesday.
State Bank of India was trading at Rs 333.6. This represented a gain of 1.17 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 329.80.
Sun Pharma rose 1.06 per cent to quote at Rs 923.50 as against Rs 913.85 at close yesterday.
The market resumed its uptrend today after opening lower on weak global cues. However, it quickly recovered to post further gains on fresh buying by funds and retail investors. The BSE Sensex was up over 100 points at over 29,600 points, while the Nifty had gained over 30 points to trade above the 8,950 level.
