Metal and auto shares were among the top gainers on the BSE on Wednesday morning. At 10.49 am Vedanta led the pack on the bourse, quoting at Rs 90 against Rs 85.70 at close yesterday. This was a gain of 5.02 per cent.
Hindalco Industries rode up 3.55 per cent to quote at Rs 77.35 against Rs 74.70 at close yesterday.
ONGC flared up 2.35 per cent to trade at Rs 252.85. The scrip had closed the previous session at Rs 247.05.
Bajaj Auto gained 1.93 per cent to trade at Rs 2,423.50 against Rs 2,377.60 at close overnight.
Tata Motors surged 1.86 per cent to quote at Rs 339.70. The share had ended the previous session at Rs 333.50.
