Metal shares Vedanta and Tata Steel rallied further to stay ahead of the pack on the BSE near the close on Friday.
At 3.14 pm Vedanta held gains of 11.25 per cent at Rs 103.30 against its overnight close at Rs 92.85.
Tata Steel moved up further to hold gains of 4.28 per cent at Rs 250.8 against Rs 240.50 at close on Thursday.
Tata Motors sped up 3.40 per cent to quote at Rs 354.50 against Rs 342.85 at close yesterday.
Infosys gained 2.77 per cent at Rs 1,163.85 against Rs 1,132.45 at close last evening.
ICICI Bank held on to most of its morning gains at Rs 285.90. This was up 2.68 per cent on its previous close at Rs 278.45 yesterday.
