Metal stocks stayed ahead of the pack on the bourses on Monday. At 3.19 pm Vedanta held gains of 7.05 per cent at Rs 110.90, against its previous close at Rs 103.60.
Hindalco Industries advanced further to hold gains of 5.96 per cent at Rs 88.95 against Rs 83.95 on Friday evening.
GAIL (India) sailed up 2.47 per cent to quote at Rs 319.30 against Rs 311.60 at close last week.
Tata Motors held steady to keep gains of 1.95 per cent at Rs 363.4. The share had ended the previous session at Rs 356.45.
BHEL steamed up 1.73 per cent to quote at Rs 205.4 against Rs 201.9 at close on Friday.
