Metal stocks maintained their recent firm undertone to lead the pack on the BSE on Wednesday. Hindalco Industries was the top gainer on the bourse at 10.24 am. It was quoting at Rs 90.10, up 4.77 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 86.
Vedanta moved up 3.20 per cent to trade at Rs 111.20 against Rs 107.75 at close yesterday.
Tata Steel advanced 2.37 per cent at Rs 251 against Rs 245.20 at close overnight.
Wipro joined the uptrend to quote at Rs 592.75 against Rs 585.40 at close on Tuesday. This was a gain of 1.26 per cent.
State Bank of India gained 1.07 per cent at Rs 246 against Rs 243.40 at close last evening.
